Edelman-Lyon Automatic Door has been a fixture of the commercial door industry in the Midwest for over 70 years. What started as a family business built on honest work and reliable service is still exactly that today — a family-owned company, staffed by certified technicians, serving businesses that can’t afford for their doors to fail.
We install, service, and maintain commercial automatic doors for hospitals, retail centres,airports, office buildings, warehouses, and specialty facilities across Kansas City, Wichita,Springfield, Oklahoma City, Dallas, and surrounding areas.
Who We Are
Edelman-Lyon was founded in the Kansas City area and has grown steadily by doing one thing well: showing up, doing the work correctly, and standing behind it. We don’t subcontract.
The technicians who answer your service call are Edelman-Lyon employees — trained in-house, certified through AAADM, and accountable to you directly.
We are members of the American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) — the industry body that sets the standards for safe automatic door installation, inspection, and maintenance in the United States. AAADM certification requires technicians to pass formal examinations and complete ongoing training on ANSI/BHMA standards and safety protocols.

- Door hardware — operators, sensors, activation devices, access control integration, safety edges, and replacement parts sourced directly from leading manufacturers.
- Specialty doors — ICU sliding doors, airport entrance systems, revolving doors, and high-cycle industrial doors.
All installation and maintenance work is performed to ANSI/BHMA A156.10 and A156.19 standards where applicable, and ADA compliance is verified on every door we service.
